Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, develop, and test software for space systems. The role requires expertise in at least one programming language, strong fundamentals, and the ability to architect complex systems.

You will mentor engineers, participate in code reviews, leverage Git and Linux, and collaborate across teams to deliver mission-critical software. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) or Masters +3 yrs experience.
• Typically 5+ years of related experience.
• Expertise in one to multiple programming languages and advanced understanding of software development principles.
• Ability to design and architect complex software systems.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum/Kanban.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide other engineers, providing technical leadership.
