Job summary

ATR International seeks a Staff Software Tools Engineer to join our client’s team in Palo Alto, San Jose, or Houston, with the option to work remotely in the US. You will develop tools and services to automate embedded flight software across spacecraft product lines for commercial GEO, NASA Artemis Power, and more.

Required are a CS/CE/Aerospace degree, 7–10 years in designing n-tier apps or microservices, strong Python, and experience with AWS-based tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; four additional years of experience may substitute for degree.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.
• 7–10 years of experience designing and implementing n-tier apps or microservices/SOA.
• Ability to travel to Palo Alto, CA occasionally.

• Assess and consolidate existing automation tools.

Our Client is currently seeking a Staff Software Tools Engineer to join our team in our Palo Alto, CA, San Jose, CA or Houston, TX offices. This role can also be based remotely in the US. In this role, you will develop tools and services for automating embedded flight software development across all Intuitive Machines spacecraft product lines, including commercial GEO, NASA Artemis Power and Propulsion Element, NASA remote sensing missions, and national security missions.

Our Client is a leading space infrastructure company that builds spacecraft, connects networks, and operates infrastructure-as-a-service for commercial, civil, and national security customers. With a proven track record across the space domain, the Company, through organic growth and portfolio expansion, has built over 300 spacecraft, delivered over 260 kilograms of payload to the lunar surface, and provided precision navigation expertise that has guided spacecraft across our solar system.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and refine embedded-development use cases and automation requirements
• Assess and consolidate existing automation tools
• Design and implement new or existing tools on our internal AWS-based cloud platform
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

• Experience with technical writing, and cross-functional stakeholder management

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Expert in Python
• Eperience with WebUI frameworks like React
• Experience with container orchestration in AWS using open-source tools like Kubernetes, Karpenter, and Crossplane
• Experience working in a continuous build and test environment
• Knowledge of CI/CD and issue tracking tools such as the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence) and Gitlab
