Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies seeks a Flight Software Associate for Summer 2027. You will join the engineering team to design, write, and test embedded software for satellites and related ground control software.

Open to new grads with a four-year degree in CS/EE or enrolled in an MS program, you should have experience in C/C++ and scripting. The position is a 12-week salaried internship with a base weekly pay of $1,925 USD.

Flight Software Associate (Summer 2027)

Associate positions at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks, and are salaried roles designed for new grads who have graduated from a four-year university.

As an Associate, you will have an amazing opportunity to work on hard problems — we pride ourselves on giving everyone at Astranis a chance to do meaningful work on challenging projects, no matter their seniority. Many past interns have designed and tested hardware/software that is heading to space on our first satellite, and many of them are now full-time employees at Astranis.

Role

• Work with the engineering team to design, write and test software (embedded software running on satellites, as well as variety of ground control and testing software)

Requirements

• Hold a four-year degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or be currently enrolled in a M.S program in a similar discipline
• Experience with C/C++ and scripting language(s)
• Demonstrated ability to personally design, write, and test software from scratch

Bonus

• Experience with embedded systems running on bare metal
• Experience with real time operating systems
• Experience with FPGA or DSP programming

The base salary for this position is $1,925 per week.
