Job summary

Boeing in Berkeley, Missouri, seeks a Software Engineer for our Flight Simulation Labs. You will develop and maintain software architecture, integrate code into complete systems, and support simulation environments used by Mission Systems engineers for testing.

We value 2+ years in programming and software engineering with languages such as C/C++/C#, Python, Java, or Ada, plus agile teamwork experience. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Secret clearance.
  • 2+ years of programming experience in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada.
  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Higher level positions: 5+ years (Level 3) or 9+ years (Level 4) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain software architecture, requirements, interfaces, and designs.
  • Build, update, and integrate code and software components into complete systems.
  • Support creation of simulation environments used by Mission Systems engineers for testing.
  • Contribute as part of an Agile team to achieve shared goals.
  • Conduct and record software research and development efforts.
  • Support multiple simulation-related initiatives under general direction.
  • Develop tools for simulation infrastructure across Flight Simulation Labs.
  • Create core simulation infrastructure and model aircraft capabilities for tests.

Requirements

Must have:
  • We require a bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • We need candidates who can obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, with an interim and/or final Secret clearance after hire.
  • We look for at least 2 years of programming experience in C, C , C#, Python, Java, or Ada, or an equivalent mix of technical education and experience.
  • We require at least 2 years of experience as a software engineer.
  • For higher-level positions, we prefer 5 years of related experience for Level 3 or 9 years for Level 4, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • We prefer an active Secret clearance or higher.
  • We value experience in the defense or avionics sector.
  • We prefer familiarity with basic networking principles.
  • We value experience working on agile teams with tools such as Jira.
  • We look for strong coordination and communication abilities.
  • We need candidates who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • We value the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
