UCHealth Loveland is seeking a Flight Nurse to provide direct patient care during air and ground critical care transport. The role requires extensive critical care experience, CFRN, and state RN licensure; you will work onsite with a flexible shift schedule and a competitive hourly pay rate.

You will document assessments, manage interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe transport and optimal patient outcomes. Travel may be required.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
• Colorado RN license or multi-state compact required at hire; license within six months.
• Flight Nurse Certification (CFRN) required; state license activation as applicable.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required; additional trauma courses preferred.
• Minimum 3 years ICU/ED experience; flight/CCT/EMS experience preferred.
• Instructor certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP/T patc) preferred or can be pursued.

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:

Provides direct patient care during air and ground critical care transport.

Responsibilities:

Provides patient care during all phases of the transport from initial contact until care is relinquished to appropriate team member at the accepting medical facility.

Documents patient assessment, evaluation, interventions, patient response to therapy, changes in condition, and procedures within the established timeframe. Participates in Pre and Post Transport briefings. Provides patient follow up to referral agencies.

Ensures equipment is in working order, noting any discrepancies and ensuring steps toward resolution. Completes all required vehicle and equipment checklists.

Collaborates across disciplines to drive success and improve outcomes. Provides safety and clinical education to referring facilities and EMS agencies as needed. Active participant in safety, education, quality, and outreach.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Required Licensure: Colorado OR Multi-state compact RN License at hire. Multi-state compact Nursing License within six (6) months of hire. Flight Nurse Certification (CFRN). Valid driver's license. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP); and any one of the following: Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC), or TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN). Tracked by department: Relevant license and certifications as determined at position level.

Minimum Experience: 3 years ICU, Emergency department (or combination of both) experience. Preferred: Previous Flight, CCT or EMS experience. Instructor certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TPATC or TNCC or ATCN).

• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
