CommonSpirit Health's St. Joseph Health in Bryan, TX seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care across flight/ground transport and critical care settings.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to perform assessments, procedures, and coordinated patient care, with emphasis on rapid decision-making and communication.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in nursing.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of current critical care/emergency experience (flight or transport).
  • RN license in TX upon hire.
  • EMT license in TX upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days.
  • ACLS within 6 months.
  • PALS within 6 months.
  • Prehospital Trauma Life Support within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Performs specialized assessments, diagnoses, therapies and emergency treatment for patients transported by rotor-wing, fixed-wing or ground.
  • Maintains knowledge for flight nursing through meetings, reviews, labs, rotations and continuing education.
  • Maintains and facilitates effective communication between management, internal and external customers.
  • Documents accurate assessment and treatment data during stabilization and transport.
  • Documents billing information for patient transport.

  • Performs a wide range of specialized functions and complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies and emergency treatment of patients transported by rotor-wing and/or fixed wing and/or ground.

  • Maintains knowledge base for flight nursing role by attending mandatory meetings, chart reviews, equipment reviews, skill labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education sessions related to the care and transport of critically ill and/or injured patients.

  • Maintains and facilitates effective and timely communication between management, internal and external customers.

  • Documents appropriate and accurate information for assessment and treatment during stabilization and transport.

  • Documents accurate and complete billing information of patient transport.
