Job summary

Acute Air Ambulance is seeking a Flight Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on a contractor basis, delivering advanced respiratory care during air medical transport.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, manage ventilators and oxygen therapy, and ensure equipment readiness. Florida-licensed RRT/CRT with 3 years of respiratory care (1 year critical care) and current BLS/ACLS/PALS, passport, and ability to drive within 45 minutes of FLL are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) in Florida.
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory care experience, with at least 1 year in critical care or emergency settings.
• Current Passport and ability to travel internationally.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Drug screen and background check required; available within 45-minute drive from FLL.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients during air transport, including ventilator management and oxygen therapy.
• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status; adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain all medical equipment in ready-to-use condition.
• Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practices in respiratory care.
