Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking a Fluids Engineer to own a critical fluid system from concept through flight. The role encompasses propulsion fluid design, vehicle feed systems, tank pressure controls, or pneumatic systems, with close collaboration across propulsion, structures, thermal, avionics, and manufacturing teams.

This hands‑on position requires moving quickly, iterating designs, and delivering hardware that directly impacts mission success, including on‑orbit operations and test campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years designing fluid hardware for flight vehicles or high‑performance hardware.
  • Experience from concept to build, integration, and test.

Responsibilities

  • Own your fluid subsystem from concept to design, analysis, test, and flight.
  • Design fluid components and systems for minimum mass while meeting pressure and life requirements.
  • Develop valves, routing architectures, and storage hardware for propellant and pneumatic fluids.
  • Balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule in every design decision.
  • Perform hand calculations, FEA, tolerance analysis and validate with test/flight data.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, thermal, and pneumatic teams on integration.
  • Draft procedures and acceptance criteria for qualification campaigns.
  • Create and maintain drawings, models, specs, and interface documents.
  • Work on the factory floor with manufacturing to resolve build issues.
