Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam in Prestonsburg, KY is seeking a Flight Paramedic to join our team of air transport professionals delivering high-quality patient care. You will provide advanced life support during transport and work within a safety-focused crew environment.

Starting pay is $21.34 hourly plus DOE, with a $5 hourly area stipend modification. This role includes base checks, patient care documentation, and coordination with EMS and hospitals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the time frame.
• Daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until handoff, with documentation.
• Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
• Maintain licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and procedures documentation.
• Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
• Functions as a medical flight member.
• Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and Pilot assistance when needed (radio, navigational, visual observation).
• Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
• Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.

• Responsible for completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Responsible for daily base checks, which includes narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility maintaining thorough patient care documentation.
• Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
• Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual
• Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
• Functions as a medical flight member.
• Attends pre-mission briefings and mission debriefing and completes necessary documentation.
