Job summary

Med-Trans is hiring a Flight Paramedic to join our air transportation team, providing high-quality pre-hospital and intra-hospital care. You will participate in pre-mission briefings, operate as part of a medical flight crew, and ensure patient records and safety checks are completed accurately.

The role requires ALS capabilities, valid EMT-P license, and FP-C certification within 24 months. A supportive team environment and consistent safety standards are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a 911 or critical care setting as a licensed Paramedic required.
  • Flight status requires active EMT-P license and certifications prior to flight operations.
  • FP-C within 24 months from hire is required.
  • Instructor certifications in basic and advanced life support are preferred.
  • NREMT-P may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within required time frames.
  • Perform daily base checks including narcotic counts.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from first contact until release to facility.
  • Maintain licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and procedures documentation.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are maintained and that safety standards are followed.
  • Work as a medical flight team member and participate in pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefings.
  • Assist with liftoff checklists and pilot communications as needed.

Education

EMT-P license
BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP/trauma certifications
FP-C within 24 months
Instructor certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS/PEPP/ITLS/PHTLS)
NREMT-P may be required

  • Starting Range is $21.34-$40.99 per hour, Dependent on Experience
  • $18,000 Annual Area Stipend
  • Schedule requires two 24-hour shifts per week
  • Company paid crew housing while on shift

We're hiring aFlight Paramedicto work with our team of air transportation experts to safely transport patients to and from medical facilities as well as scene call work. Safety, effective and efficient patient care is a key pillar of our services, therefore you'll work on a quality, professional team that is committed to high safety standards for the crew and our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame
  • Responsible for daily base checks, which includes narcotic count.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility maintaining thorough patient care documentation.
  • Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual
  • Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Functions as a medical flight member.
  • Attends pre-mission briefings and mission debriefing and completes necessary documentation.
  • Assists in pre-mission liftoff checklist and Pilot assistance when needed, i.e. radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
  • Complies with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
  • Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Responsible for filling open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a 911 or critical care setting as a licensed Paramedic required.

Flight Experience Preferred Education:

  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
  • Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.
