Job summary

Med-Trans, part of Global Medical Response, is hiring a Part-Time Flight Paramedic to join a team of air transport specialists. You will transport patients to and from facilities and perform scene call work with emphasis on high safety standards and professional care.

You will complete electronic patient care records, conduct base checks, and provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care with strong documentation and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Current EMT-P license/certification required.
  • FP-C certification required within 24 months from date of hire.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS certifications preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the required time frame.
  • Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from first contact to handoff to receiving facility.
  • Maintain competency through ongoing labs and clinical experiences.
  • Document licensure, certifications, CE, safety, and procedures in Education Manual.
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and public.
  • Serve as a medical flight crew member and participate in pre/post mission briefings.
  • Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to safety standards to ensure crew and patient safety.
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as required.
  • Fill shifts as needed across assigned area per Regional Director.

Education

Current EMT-P license/certification in states served by assigned area
FP-C certification within 24 months
BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS instructor certifications (preferred)
NREMT-P certification may be required

  • Starting Range is $21.34-$40.99 per hour, Dependent on Experience
  • $6,250 Annual Area Stipend
  • Schedule requires one 24-hour shift per week
  • Company paid crew housing while on shift

We’re hiring aPart-Time Flight Paramedicto work with our team of air transportation experts to safely transport patients to and from medical facilities as well as scene call work. Safety, effective and efficient patient care is a key pillar of our services, therefore you’ll work on a quality, professional team that is committed to high safety standards for the crew and our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame
  • Responsible for daily base checks, which includes narcotic count.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility maintaining thorough patient care documentation.
  • Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual
  • Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Functions as a medical flight member.
  • Attends pre-mission briefings and mission debriefing and completes necessary documentation.
  • Assists in pre-mission liftoff checklist and Pilot assistance when needed, i.e. radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
  • Complies with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
  • Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Responsible for filling open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting required.
Flight Experience Preferred Education:
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
  • Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.
