Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse (Critical Care Transport) for a full-time role. Shifts include 3 12-hour days/nights with FLEX options and opportunities to work 3 12-hour nights.

The position offers tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually and relocation assistance. Located in Orlando, Nemours Children’s Hospital delivers world-class pediatric care and supports a wide network of clinics.

Qualifications

• ASN is required.
• Active Florida RN license is required.
• National certification in area of clinical specialty is preferred.
• Minimum of three years of critical care experience (ED/ICU/NICU) is required.
• NICU RN experience with ≥2000 hours is required.
• Submit BLS, PALS, ACLS within 30 days of hire.
• Transport RN/weight standards or higher courses may be required within one year.

Responsibilities

• The RN implements patient care delivery and family-centered care.
• Administer medications and treatments per licensed practitioner orders.
• Supervise and teach other personnel in nursing acts.

Job Description

• The observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirm; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness of others.

Position Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse implements the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family.

Clinical Judgment

• Utilize policies, procedures, guidelines, and reliable methods to make clinical practice decisions.
• Independently develop, implement, evaluate, and modify clinical practice matching formal knowledge with critical thinking and nursing skills.
• Collect and interpret complex patient data with clinical events to make clinical decisions to meet individual patient and family needs.
• Recognize and respond to the dynamic situation while sorting out extraneous detail and exercises clinical judgment based on an immediate grasp of the whole picture for the patient population of the assigned clinical area.

• Active Florida or multi-state RN license, required
• National certification in area of clinical specialty (preferred)
• Minimum of three years 3 years critical care experience, i.e. ED, ICU, NICU, CICU required
• Valid American Heart Association NRP
• NICU RN experience required - must have minimum 2000 hours

Following courses must be completed within 30 days of hire

• Valid American Heart Association BLS
• Valid American Heart Association PALS
• American Heart Association ACLS

Following courses must be completed within one year of hire

• Staff personnel assigned to patient transport responsibilities on the rotor aircraft (Crew members) will comply with and maintain mandatory weight standards established for safe program operations
• TNCC (Transport RN) or higher course Advanced Trauma for Nurse (ATCN)-

• Air Medical Cres Core Curriculum Course (AMCC)

• STABLE
