Job summary

Socket.dev in Michigan is seeking a Flight Maintenance Engineer Assistant Manager to lead the Maintenance team, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive reliability initiatives across FME personnel.

The candidate will coordinate with directors and supervisors, maintain accurate inventory and tooling, and oversee training and budget-related tasks. Requirements include 7 years of aircraft maintenance, 5 years supervisory experience, FAA A&P certificate, strong computer skills, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• 7 years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
• 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate.
• Individual must be organized and proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Flight Maintenance Engineers (FME), FME Supervisors, FME Schedulers and FME Trainers comply with all Company policy and procedures.
• Coordinate with the Director TOMC to develop improvement and reliability initiatives with FME personnel.
• Coordinate with the FME Supervisor to ensure FMEs maintain accurate FAK inventory and tooling on each airplane.
• Coordinate/direct the FME scheduler/assistant to ensure correct personnel assignments.
• Coordinate with the FME Supervisor to evaluate FME performance.
• Coordinate with the FME Trainer to ensure formal training and OJT are accomplished. Ensure that assigned personnel complete any due/overdue training.
• Coordinate with the Outstation Line Maintenance Manager to provide direct liaison with international maintenance providers.
• Work with Maintenance Control, Maintenance Control Manager, Outstation Line Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planning Manager, Maintenance Planning and Line Stations to ensure aircraft maintenance requirements are completed.
• Analyze expenses and operational requirements to manage the budget accordingly. Perform any other duties assigned by the Director Technical Operations & Maintenance Control.
• Perform any other duty as assigned by the FME Manager or Director Technical Operations & Maintenance Control.

QUALIFICATIONS

7 years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred

5 years of supervisory experience preferred

FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate

Individual must be organized and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Company Software

Must be a US Citizen and have a US Passport

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.

Must have a good working knowledge of world geography and flight operations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written directions.
