Job summary

Cirrus in Knoxville, TN seeks an experienced Flight Instructor to provide industry‑leading, learner‑centric flight training on Cirrus SR/SF models. You will perform PIC duties on corporate and demonstration flights, develop lesson plans, and maintain pilot training records.

The role requires an FAA Flight Instructor Certificate, airplane single-engine and instrument ratings, and strong safety and customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• Three years' pilot experience required.
• 1000 dual given hours or 750 hours in Cirrus required.
• SF50 Type rating preferred; ATP certificate preferred.
• Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate.
• Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane ratings required.
• Current Second-class Medical Certificate or higher.
• IFR in congested airspace, mountain flying, IMC, international flight, and night experience preferred.
• Meet ATP Single Engine requirements per FAR 61.159.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and Cirrus policies.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Make timely decisions regarding safety of flight.
• Conduct training events per program guidance.
• Provide flight and ground instruction per Cirrus standards.
• Record training activities in pilot training records.
• Recommend students for FAA tests.
• Assess pilot performance across domains.
• Customize training to fit student needs.
• Act as PIC on Cirrus missions and flights.
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
• Continual learning of Cirrus aircraft developments.
• Maintain aircraft knowledge and professional demeanor.
• Communicate with students before and after training.
• Enhance flight safety with high-quality instruction.
• All other duties as assigned.
