Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Hardware Reliability Engineer (Engineer II) to ensure the robustness and long-term performance of VBAT flight hardware. You will work with design, manufacturing, and supplier teams to implement design-for-reliability and support reliability verification from concept through production.

You will participate in environmental testing, failure analysis investigations, and data-driven reliability assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 1–3 years of hardware, materials or reliability engineering experience.
• Foundational understanding of materials science, electronics and/or mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental and stress testing to validate hardware reliability.
• Assist in failure analysis and root cause investigations.
• Analyze test results and field data to identify reliability risks.
• Collaborate with design engineers on design-for-reliability practices.
• Participate in design reviews and FMEA activities.
• Develop corrective actions to enhance hardware reliability.
• Review materials, processes, and components for reliability considerations.
• Use Python to support reliability assessments and reporting.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
• Travel occasionally for testing or supplier engagements.
