Job summary

Flight For Life Colorado seeks an EMT to operate ground ambulances within ALS/BLS programs, delivering high-quality patient care. You will ensure vehicle readiness, assist in critical care transport, and maintain equipment in a demanding aeromedical environment.

Applicants must be a certified EMT with driving experience, maintain vehicle readiness, and comply with all safety and clinical guidelines. This role requires strong attention to detail and teamwork in high-stakes settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of experience as a licensed EMT.
• 1 year of experience driving an ambulance or other emergency vehicle.
• 2 years as a licensed driver.
• Current State EMT Certification.
• IV Therapy Certification within 2 months of hire.
• EVOC/ CVEO completion within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Colorado Driver’s License with no moving violations in last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Drives Flight For Life ground ambulances safely and in compliance with policies and traffic laws.
• ALS/CC Transport: obtains vitals, monitors, assists in moving the patient to the stretcher, and other patient care duties.
• BLS Transport: provides direct patient care per Flight For Life Clinical Guidelines.
• Maintains radio communications with Flight For Life Communication Center and local facilities as needed.
• Oversees and participates in safe loading and offloading of the ambulance.
• Keeps vehicles stocked according to supply list.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our EMT, Flights, you will operate Flight For Life ground ambulances in a safe, professional, and efficient manner, providing patient care within the ALS/BLS program and BLS scope of care.

Every day you will ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, maintain daily vehicle readiness and cleanliness, and provide critical clinical assistance to other team members, Emergency Departments, and the Business Office within your EMT scope.

To be successful in this role, you will be a certified EMT with strong driving skills, a meticulous approach to vehicle maintenance and readiness, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and clinical assistance within a rigorous aeromedical transport environment.

• Drives safely and in compliance with traffic laws and Flight for Life policies, including all Code 3 operations to maximize safety of all occupants and other vehicles' occupants.
• For ALS and Critical Care Transport, under the direction of the medical crewmembers, obtains vital signs, puts patient on monitor, assists in moving the patient to the stretcher, and other patient care duties as assigned.
• For BLS Transport, provides direct patient care in accordance with Flight For Life Clinical Guidelines.
• Maintains radio communications with Flight For Life Communication Center and local facilities and agencies when needed.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D
• One (1) year of experience as a licensed EMT
• One (1) year of experience driving an ambulance or other emergency vehicle
• Two (2) years as a licensed driver
• Current State of Employment EMT Certification
• IV Therapy Certification within two (2) months of hire
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVOC or CVEO) within six (6) months of hire/transfer
• Colorado Driver’s License with no moving violations for past two (2) years
