Job summary

York Space Systems seeks a Flight Dynamics Engineer to design, analyze, and develop flight dynamics software for diverse missions. You will work within the Flight Dynamics team to define software architecture, develop algorithms, validate models, support operations, and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities include creating robust simulations, performing orbit determination and analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems while aligning with mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
• 2-8 years of experience in spacecraft GNC, flight dynamics systems, ground software or similar.
• Experience with Python software development and testing; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain flight dynamics modeling and simulation tools in Python.
• Contribute to systems engineering and software architecture, including defining interfaces and requirements.
• Translate designs, algorithms, and requirements into clean, readable code.
• Maintain and improve existing flight dynamics and astrodynamics software; add new capabilities.
• Develop unit, integration, and validation tests and document for users.
