Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah seeks an experienced Flight Dynamics Engineer to join the Flight Sciences team. You will help develop the next generation of Gulfstream products alongside test pilots, engineers, and specialists.

The role includes planning wind tunnel campaigns, building high‑fidelity aerodynamic models, supporting flight tests, and certifying handling qualities. A strong engineering background and mentoring ability are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent; 5 years in a technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience.
• Experience with 14 CFR Part 23 or Part 25 certification program.
• Experience tuning aerodynamic models using wind tunnel, CFD, and flight test data.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coding skills and software development practices.
• Effective project management and planning capabilities.
• Mentoring and teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and reduce data for wind tunnel test campaigns.
• Build and refine high‑fidelity aerodynamic simulation models using wind tunnel, CFD, and other data sources.
• Support flight test campaigns, including pre‑test planning, real‑time telemetry monitoring, and post‑flight data evaluation.
• Update and validate aerodynamic simulation models using flight data and parameter/system identification techniques.
• Enhance and expand our simulation framework and analysis tools.
• Conduct static and time‑history–based analyses.
• Conduct tests and evaluate data from laboratory simulation sessions.
• Partner with teams across Flight Sciences, Flight Test, Flight Operations, and other organizations.
• Ensure aircraft maneuverability, favorable handling qualities, and controllability for normal operations and in failures.
• Support Functional Hazard Assessment analysis and testing and other related certification activities.
