Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a Flight Controls and Simulation Engineer who can work on many new and unique aircraft flight controls and autonomy algorithms.

The projects range in size from group 1 to group 3 aircraft, solving problems that move from cradle to grave. There are no silos at this startup, you will work on everything ranging from aircraft design and analysis to flight test and everything in between that’s needed.

Key skills include being able to develop and test flight control algorithms and design, autonomy layer planners, and aerodynamic trade studies.

The position is located at the University of Buffalo Amherst Incubator space.

Our projects employ software at the heart that enables small to manned-size aircraft, from autonomy, to flight controls, aircraft design, ground test systems, and flight test. It certainly is an exciting time to work on flight controllers, the world is transforming, come join us!

Position Requirements

• 2+ years relevant project, work, CoOp, or internship experience
• MS in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering field
• Familiarity with classical, modern, adaptive, and/or nonlinear control techniques
• System modeling and dynamics
• Ability to code in C/C++, MATLAB and Python
• Experience in simulation development and analysis

Preferred / Nice to Have

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering with Controls, Dynamics or Simulation focus
• Embedded programming
• Experience in simulation development
• Familiarity with open-source software
• Electrical experience
• Architecting and delivering reliable software
• Experience with instrumentation and robotics
