Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking a Dynamics and Controls Engineer to join the Vehicle Control and Dynamics Department in State College, PA. You will develop flight control system requirements, build 6DoF dynamic models, and implement Matlab/Simulink simulations to support Navy, DoD, and IC projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science; 14+ years relevant experience (Senior).
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science; 5+ years relevant experience (Advanced).
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science; 2+ years relevant experience (Intermediate).

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze flight control system requirements.
• Create, validate, and maintain 6DoF dynamic system models for undersea vehicles including SIL in Matlab/Simulink.
• Design, tune, and validate flight control algorithms and software.
• Design and analyze Strapdown Inertial Navigation System algorithms and sensor models.
• Develop, debug, and test Matlab/Simulink-based software and data analysis tools; document algorithms and defects.
• Support lab and field test planning, execution, and data analysis.
• Proactively share knowledge with team members.
