Job summary

RRD is seeking a skilled Press Operator for 2nd shift in Wisconsin (Cudahy) to set up, run, and maintain flexo rotaries and related machinery. The role includes color accuracy, registration, and routine maintenance to ensure quality output.

The position offers pay between $26.00 and $32.00 per hour plus a $2.00/hr shift differential, with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and more. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of a wide variety of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment to produce multi-color work to critical tolerances.
• Ability to read job specifications and understand press capabilities to determine proper press usage and settings.
• Skill in reading micrometers to mount and align printing plates correctly.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain the flexo rotary die cutter.
• Review job specs to determine press setup based on run imposition.
• Perform make-ready tasks: hang plates, install cylinders, check plates/cylinders for imperfections.
• Make color corrections and adjust presses to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain presses, replace worn parts, perform minor repairs.
• Perform periodic maintenance per manufacturer recommendations.

Job Description

Available Shifts:

2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday -Friday with OT as required

Pay

$26.00/hr - $32.00/hr

2nd Shift Differential: $2.00/hr

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain flexo rotoray die cutter. Multi-color work which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical
• Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run (sheet wise or work and turn)
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
• Makes necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required
• Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Requires comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set-ip, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color work to critical tolerances
• Skill in a wide-variety of complex manipulations and mechanical procedures to perform a variety of tasks to set-up, make major adjustments, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color work
• Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully
• Skill in use of micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly

The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential.
