Job Location: Nutmeg Container Corp L19 - Putnam, CT 06260

Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.00 Hourly

Job Purpose: To produce a variety of packaging using 2 color +/- printed, slotted, glued boxes and following all the required safety rules direct and assume responsibility for the headsetter and helper in the production of customer product orders and workflow. Perform all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of safety, quality, and respect.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Communicate with forklift operators to bring correct stock to the machine
  • Check stock for size, scoring and grade before setting up the machine
  • Set print, one or two colors, as specified by work order
  • Check for correct PH and color using special test equipment
  • Check for correct placement of print
  • Set scores and slotting blades as specified by work order
  • Check for correct placement of scores and slots
  • Periodically check a sample during the production run to ensure all specifications are being met
  • Stack product on carts for easy mobility to the next workstation per the instructions on work order
  • Label each cart with part number and next job center for each unit of product
  • Documents production and production process by completing work orders
  • Maintains quality standards by conducting machine operator PMs and making equipment adjustments as needed.
  • Helps prepare others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures.
  • Completes and maintains records according to production and quality standards by reviewing all quality assurance documents, conducting first-piece inspection and completing production report.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ensuring that any special customer requirements are met.
  • Responsible for safe handling finished product in a safe manner, and to ensure quality.
  • Maintains production operations by following policies and procedures
  • Maintains safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains cleanliness of manufacturing and storage areas using 5S standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Lifting raw or finished material weighing 50-75 pounds
