Job summary

Boxes, LLC is seeking an experienced operator for our Bridgeton, MO converting floor. You’ll set up and run corrugated converting machinery, including flexo folder gluers and rotary die cutters, ensuring tooling, speed, and alignment meet job specs.

Responsibilities include in-process checks, quality inspections, maintaining KPIs for throughput and yield, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. A hands-on background in packaging/converting is required.

Qualifications

A Day in the Life

You arrive to a clean, well-organized converting floor and pick up the job ticket. You review specs, confirm tooling, and move to your line—today it’s a flexo folder gluer with a rotary die cutter changeover next. You stage dies, plates, and tooling, dial in speed, pressure, and feed alignment, then pull first-piece samples to verify scoring, cutting, printing, and registration. Throughout the run, you monitor KPIs, adjust on the fly to correct variances, and keep the machine humming safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate corrugated converting machinery including rotary die cutters, flexo folder gluers, and box-making equipment.
• Install dies, printing plates, and other tooling to meet job specifications.
• Adjust machine parameters—speed, nip pressure, and feed alignment—for optimal output and quality.
• Monitor production runs, conduct in-process checks, and maintain continuous operation.

Quality Ownership

• Inspect finished product for accuracy, alignment, and overall quality.
• Verify measurements, scoring, cutting, and printing against customer requirements.
• Identify defects quickly and make real-time adjustments to correct issues.
• Document production metrics and quality checks accurately.

Keep It Running

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues; escalad major repairs to maintenance as needed.
• Replace worn parts such as blades, belts, and dies to maintain performance.

Safety First

• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and comply with OSHA regulations and company policies.

Your Background

• Quality inspection experience with a track record of catching and correcting issues.
• Comfort monitoring operational metrics and managing KPIs to drive throughput and yield.
• Hands-on packaging/converting experience.
• Proficiency setting up machines for production runs, including flexo folder gluers.
