School of Rock in Austin, TX seeks a passionate Music Instructor to deliver engaging private lessons and group rehearsals across keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums.

You will design curricula, document lesson plans, and ensure students master fundamentals while fostering a positive, energetic learning environment. The role involves direct parent communication and occasional school maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal with a wide range of customers and people.
• Strong organizational and customer relations skills.
• Resourceful, able to solve problems under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maximize quality of music instruction, including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents after lessons.
• Interact with parents and students regularly at the school.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance; adhere to conduct policies.
