Job summary

Highline Academy seeks a Flex Teacher to join our K-8 environment in Denver. You will support a 176-student contact year with 186 days plus training, collaborating with family and SIT teams to deliver rigorous, inclusive instruction and strong classroom management.

You will enter grades in the LMS, cover for planned/unplanned leaves, engage families through communications, and participate in professional development as a key member of our school community.

Qualifications

• Sub license required, teaching license preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the Highline mission;
• Strong classroom management and student relationship building skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Flexibility and a positive attitude
• Bachelor's degree highly preferred
• Bilingual applicants are highly encouraged

Responsibilities

• Flex teachers may be assigned to long term substitute roles for planned leaves such as maternity, unplanned leaves, or unexpected termination of employment.
• Flex teacher may also be asked to sub one day at a time as needed for teachers who are out for illness or other reasons.
• Flex teachers collaborate with their grade level peers to provide a rigorous and supportive curriculum for every student.
• Flex teachers will take on duties and roles assigned to the teacher they are covering for, including entering grades into the LMS.
• Flex teachers build positive relationships with students and engage families through newsletters and conferences.
• Attend all professional development as assigned by the principal.
