Job summary

The Goddard School of Fort Smith is seeking a dedicated Substitute Teacher to support a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children. You will help implement curriculum activities, assist in daily childcare tasks, and build positive relationships with families.

Your flexibility, empathy, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with prior childcare or education experience, are valued as you contribute to a supportive team and learning-ready classrooms.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in education or childcare highly preferred.
• Flexible Hours are available.
• High school diploma required.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing age‑appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children.
• Assist in communicating with parents about their child’s progress and activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
• Support routine childcare tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
