Staff Today is seeking a Physician Assistant for Psychiatry on a local contract basis in Lumberton, North Carolina. The assignment spans 13 weeks with 40 hours per week and an 8-hour flexible shift; the engagement is listed as 1099.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year of PA experience, strong patient rapport, and current NC licensure with CPR certification. Duties include patient interviews, diagnostics, prescribing, wound care, and education.

Formación

• Minimum 1 year working experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• CPR card (American Heart Association).
• Current NC State license/certification.

Responsabilidades

• Interview, examine and diagnose patients' injuries and illnesses.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
• Prescribe medications and advise on lifestyle changes.
• Stitch wounds, set fractures, assist in surgeries, immunize.
• Maintain medical histories and patient progress notes.
• Document information for insurance purposes.
• Educate patients and families about treatments.
• Research latest treatments and trends in medicine.
• Participate in outreach, home visits, and nursing home care.
