Interlingva is seeking a qualified Hmong interpreter to support healthcare providers and patients in the San Francisco area. This independent contractor role offers flexible scheduling and ongoing opportunities, with assignments based in San Francisco.

The interpreter will deliver accurate oral interpretation between Hmong and English, serving diverse populations across medical and community settings, and may require compliance with medical clearances and background checks.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both Hmong and English.
• Experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings.
• Ability to interpret orally between Hmong and English in both directions.
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience.
• Must be based in San Francisco Bay Area.
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary.
• Possession of a valid California license.
