Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Flex for a facility in Dover, NJ. The role emphasizes guarding people and property, patrolling areas, and responding to incidents on-site.

The position starts at $19.05 per hour with the FLEX shift option via our shift-pickup platform, allowing you to build a schedule around your availability while gaining diverse site experience across industries.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
• Background check required by law; may consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience required.
• Be at least 18 years of age (21 if armed).
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Operate radio/telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
• Warn violators of rule infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking).
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure authorized removal.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.
