Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Flex Unarmed Patrol based in Washington, DC. The role offers 30–40 hours per week with a flexible, shift-based schedule and opportunities for advancement within a nationwide security leader.

You'll perform patrols, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, and support clients across healthcare, education, and other sectors. Must meet basic qualifications and pass background/drug screening where required.

Qualifications

• Available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Able to travel required distances.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law; background histories considered per law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
