Job summary

Kelly Education is seeking a dedicated Substitute Teacher to join Rock Hill Schools on a flexible, in-person basis. You will cover classroom instruction, follow lesson plans, build relationships, and support student learning across various grades and subjects.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. The role offers weekly pay, professional development, orientation, and the chance to select preferred school locations within the district.

Responsibilities

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
• Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans
• Instructing students on a variety of classroom topics/courses
• Building positive relationships
• Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
• Motivate students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
• Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
• Adapt to the various learning styles of students
• For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments
• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction and engagement.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements or autism spectrum disorders.
• Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance lesson delivery and student participation.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Follow school policies, mandated reporting laws, and confidentiality standards diligently.
• Support curriculum implementation across subjects such as literacy education, math, early childhood education, and Montessori methods where applicable.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share best practices and improve instructional approaches.
• Assist with classroom setup, organization, and basic childcare duties as needed.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling across different classrooms and grade levels.
