Job summary

Five Star Nursing is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) in New York who will record medical histories, monitor vital signs, and administer care. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and collaboration with families and the health team.

Key requirements include an active RN license, CPR certification, and readiness for flexible schedules, including weekends. Long-term care experience and SigmaCare proficiency are a plus.

Qualifications

• Current RN license and registration.
• CPR certification required.
• Resume submission.
• Physical exam completed.
• MMR & Varicella titers available.
• PPD or chest X-ray if positive.
• One personal and one professional reference letter.
• Original Social Security Card.
• Original non-expired state ID.
• Proof of Citizenship / Immigration documents.
• Sigma Care experience is a plus.
• Long-term care experience preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Record a patient's medical history accurately.
• Take and record blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
• Observe patient progress and medication effects.
• Monitor fluid intake/output and maintain charts.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as eating and bathing.
• Administer injections and medications; wound care as needed.
• Collect lab samples as assigned.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Communicate with patients' families with guidance and updates.
