Job summary

Backyard Discovery is seeking independent contractors in Ohio to assemble and install residential outdoor play equipment at customers’ homes. This project-based work lets you choose which installations to take on and sets no guaranteed volume, with contractors responsible for their own taxes and expenses.

Contractors must own their tools, maintain insurance, and meet impact criteria. This 1099 opportunity supports flexible scheduling and non-exclusive services across multiple sites within Ohio.

Qualifications

• Independent contractor status (sole proprietor/LLC) required.
• Carpentry, construction, or equipment assembly experience preferred.
• Owns required tools and equipment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work.
• General liability insurance meeting minimum coverage requirements.
• Insurance available via third-party partner NICA for those lacking minimum liability.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install Backyard Discovery outdoor playsets at residential locations.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
• Communicate with customers regarding scheduling and site readiness.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Document completed installations as required.
