Job summary

Bay State Community Services Inc in Weymouth, MA is seeking compassionate Per Diem Youth Advocates to support youth in residential settings with a flexible schedule.

You will supervise, assist with daily living and homework, promote healthy decision making, and serve as a positive role model while maintaining documentation and coordinating with staff. Driving is an essential function.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience with adolescents preferred.
• Residential experience preferred.
• Experience with DMH/DCF or similar systems preferred.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred.
• CPI de-escalation techniques training preferred.
• Willingness to learn CPI and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, support, and encouragement to youth in a residential setting.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for youth.
• Assist youth with daily living skills, homework, coping skills, and goals.
• Build positive relationships and serve as a positive role model.
• Use de-escalation and behavioral interventions when needed.
• Complete required documentation and communicate with program staff.
• Provide per diem/as-needed shift coverage based on program needs.
• Safely transport youth; driving is an essential function of the position.
