Job summary

shm in Yonkers is seeking a phlebotomy technician to join our physician-led lab network. You will collect blood cultures, prepare specimens for the main lab, and ensure proper labeling and timely transport from satellite locations.

The role requires a high school diploma, up to 2 years of experience, BLS, and strong English communication. You will train new staff and document actions in the LIS while adapting to emergencies and maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED required.
• 0-1 years experience; 2-4 years preferred.
• HeartSaver or Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood cultures using aseptic technique.
• Process specimens for main lab transport and labeling.
• Train new staff in lab policies and procedures.
• Monitor inventory and replenish supplies in phlebotomy room.
• Enter results and procedures in the LIS and maintain documentation.
