Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Patent Prosecution Attorney for a boutique firm in Boston, MA. You will manage domestic and international patent prosecution, draft and respond to office actions, and develop strategies to strengthen client portfolios.

This per diem, flexible-hours role lets you work 20–50 hours per week and be paid accordingly. The ideal candidate has a JD and USPTO registration, at least 5 years of patent experience in software or hardware, and exceptional written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Registered Patent Attorney with USPTO (or foreign equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of patent prosecution experience, preferably in software/hardware.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file domestic and international patent applications.
• Manage all stages of patent prosecution before USPTO and foreign offices.
• Draft and respond to office actions, appeals, and other correspondence.
• Develop strategies to optimize patent protection and portfolio growth for clients.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and provide strategic counsel on portfolio development.
