First Student, Inc. in East Freetown, MA is seeking experienced, fully licensed School Bus Drivers for substitute driving opportunities across HTS, field, athletic, and charter work.

This role offers flexible assignments and pay depending on the type of duty, with current HTS/Field/athletic pay at $36.18 per hour and charter at $25.26 per hour. Ideal candidates hold a valid CDL with P and S endorsements, are at least 21, and can meet DOT safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Must be qualified to operate a school bus without an air brake restriction, when applicable.
• Previous school bus driving experience preferred.
• Must meet all applicable DOT and First Student safety requirements.
• This opportunity is intended for candidates who are already fully licensed and qualified.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting students for HTS, field, athletic, and charter assignments.
• Supervising boarding and unloading and assisting students as needed.
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintaining a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
• Reporting mechanical or safety concerns promptly.
• Following all traffic laws, DOT requirements, and company safety standards.
• Communicating professionally with students, families, school staff, dispatch, and other team members.
• Providing dependable coverage based on operational needs and available assignments.
