Job summary

Story Time Chess is hiring part-time storytellers/actors/tutors to work in schools and communities across the Wasatch Front in UT. No chess experience is required; the role focuses on teaching children through stories and engaging activities using our curriculum.

After-school hours with flexible scheduling, in-person teaching, and one-on-one or small-group sessions. Training and support are provided; excellent performers may advance to a Super Tutor role, guiding others and expanding

Qualifications

• Fun, animated, and great with children aged 3-7.
• Passion for teaching and hospitality.
• Organized, responsible, and reliable.
• Great communicator - responsive to families, schools, and our team.
• Comfortable with outreach (referrals, school contacts, community opportunities).
• Familiarity with chess is a plus but not required.
• Background in performance, teaching, or early childhood education is a bonus.
• Background check required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach chess through stories in schools and communities.
• Use our curriculum with stories, games and puzzles; follow lesson plans and training.
• Potential to become a Super Tutor leading a team of tutors and building partnerships.
