Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Flex Part Time Patrol in Columbia, MD to provide reliable security coverage at a designated site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

The pay rate is $26.00 per hour with a fixed anchor shift and the option to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, supporting part‑time income and a path toward full‑time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate contacts.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and maintain communication with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and/or emergency responders as needed.
