Job summary

The City of Marquette seeks a part-time Homemaker Aide to support seniors at the Marquette Senior Center. Duties include housekeeping, errands, and helping clients stay independent at home.

Candidates set a schedule Monday through Friday, 10–16 hours per week, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Pay is $16.48–$17.92 per hour, biweekly, with step increases and a monthly bonus.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Michigan driver's license and use of a reliable personal vehicle.
• Must have ability to perform physical labor.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Experience and desire to work with an elderly clientele.

Responsibilities

• Perform light housekeeping chores for assigned clients.
• Assist client with light meal preparation when authorized.
• Perform laundry services, including ironing.
• Provide grocery shopping.
• Participate in periodic client review.
• Complete neat and legible daily client records.
• Refer clients to caseworker when client problems and special needs arise.
• Keep all information discussed between client and self confidential.
• May provide social/emotional support of client while providing other allowable tasks.
