Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) in Illinois to support In House Registry coverage. This 0.03 FTE position requires participation in PTO coverage and scheduling gaps, with approximately 192 hours per year and four weekend days per quarter. Not a benefited role.

The COTA/L works under an OT, delivering safe, goal-directed occupational therapy, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with the care team to optimize functional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by ACOTE.
• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of IL.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering occupational therapy under supervision of an OT.
• Document patient progress and treatment responses accurately.
• Implement treatment plans and modifications under OT guidance.
• Coordinate with care team to support patient goals and safety.
• Support ongoing quality improvement and cost-effectiveness in therapy services.
