Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 40 hr DCF training or in progress.
• Experience with children preferred; bilingual ability is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support and substitute teaching when a teacher is absent, moving between classrooms as needed.
• Assist in planning, administering, and assessing developmentally appropriate curriculum; ensure child safety and welfare.
• Maintain health, anecdotal, and attendance records; inform Director of special needs or behaviours.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and licensing compliance for classroom equipment.
• Participate in ongoing training and team meetings; support volunteers and staff.
• Serve as a positive role model for children, volunteers, and parents.
• Handle sign-in/out logs, attendance, incident reports, and permission slips.
• Adhere to Metropolitan Ministries policies and perform other duties as assigned.
