Job summary

CountryHouse Council Bluffs is seeking a dependable Cook for an on-call role in Council Bluffs, IA. You’ll cook meals, follow dietary guidelines, and help create positive dining experiences for residents.

The position offers flexible scheduling with a minimum commitment of two shifts per month and no late-night shifts, aligning with our EPIC ACTS values and Great Place to Work recognition.

Qualifications

• Cooking Experience: At least one year of hands-on cooking or culinary experience.
• Positive Attitude: A dependable, team-oriented approach and a passion for serving others.
• Strong Communication: Ability to communicate and work well with residents and team members.
• Physical Ability: Lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility: Availability to work at least two shifts per month and help with additional shifts as schedule allows.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Great Meals: Cook fresh, flavorful meals according to menus, recipes, and residents’ dietary needs.
• Create Positive Experiences: Help make mealtime something residents look forward to each day.
• Support Special Events: Assist with meals for celebrations, community events, and special gatherings.
• Keep It Safe & Clean: Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and follow food safety standards.
• Work as a Team: Partner with dining team members and other departments to keep meal service running smoothly.
