Qualifications

• NJDOE Substitute Teaching Certification is required.
• NJ Department of Education fingerprints clearance.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to create efficient working relationships with staff.
• Proficiency in maintaining classroom management.
• Williness to stand for long hours or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to teach in absence of the main teacher.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and evaluate instruction for students having difficulty with reading or writing.
• Work with students in small groups and in classroom settings.
• Meet and instruct students in the locations and at the times designated.
• Use positive verbal and non-verbal cues to enhance learning.
• Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of information concerning students, staff, or guardians.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.
