Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services, Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in Irving, TX, seeks a licensed professional counselor (LPC) for PRN scheduling to provide specialized mental health counseling during rehabilitation from catastrophic injury or illness.

The LPC will join an interdisciplinary team, perform comprehensive evaluations, design reintegration activities, and support patients and families in managing needs and expectations as they regain independence.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in counseling or a counseling-related field.
• Current professional license and/or certification as required by the state of practice.
• A minimum of one year of post master's degree clinical experience with traumatic or acquired brain injuries or related neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive evaluations and sets measurable objectives with the rehabilitation team.
• Provides empirically based psychological interventions to patients and families.
• Designs community reintegration activities to assist psychological/cognitive needs during physical activity.
• Assists patients in understanding their needs and limitations and how to manage them.
• Regularly reassesses treatment progress and adjusts goals or treatment as needed.
• Communicates patient needs and progress to the treatment team and physicians.
