Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare seeks a locum tenens general surgeon to cover a flexible 7–14 day per month schedule. You’ll handle general surgical cases, manage bariatric post-op patients in the ED, and coordinate transfers for complex presentations.

You must be board certified or eligible and have hospital privileges. Paid malpractice, pre-paid travel and housing, and 24/7 consultant support are provided.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility required.
• Hospital privileges required.
• Comfort with bariatric post-op cases in the ED.
• 7–14 days per month in 7-day blocks starting Thursday AM.
• Paid malpractice insurance; pre-paid travel and housing expenses.
• Assignment details and time entry in online portal.

Responsibilities

• Provide general surgery coverage for 7–14 days per month.
• Evaluate, stabilize, and facilitate transfer for complex presentations.
• Manage bariatric post-op cases in the ED when on call.
• collaborate with hospital staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
