Job summary

Hana Brands in Secaucus, NJ is hiring an entry-level Cut Fruit Team Member to join our fresh, in-store cut fruit program. You will learn to select and grade produce, master safe cutting and portioning techniques, and follow food safety standards to keep products safe and appealing.

You’ll work in a team, minimize waste, and maintain quality throughout the day. Responsibilities include washing, peeling, coring, slicing and presenting fresh-cut fruit according to recipes and presentation

Responsibilities

• Washing, peeling, coring, slicing, and portioning a variety of fresh fruits according to recipes and specs
• Inspecting and grading incoming produce for freshness and ripeness and informing supervisor when quality is sub-standard
• Selecting fruit at correct ripeness to maximize quality, shelf life, and yield while minimizing waste
• Preparing fresh-cut fruit according to guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety
• Following allergen and cross-contamination controls and maintaining clean prep surfaces
• Applying date labeling and using FIFO to ensure freshness and reduce shrink
• Maintaining a clean work environment to prevent contamination
• Reporting equipment problems to the manager on duty
• Sanitizing utensils and equipment used in preparation before use
• Greeting and communicating with customers to ensure they feel valued
