Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar transportation role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in route planning and navigation, including GPS and mapping tools.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and load packages weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Physical capability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, and climbing movements.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
• Knowledge of local traffic patterns and road conditions in the Effingham area (preferred).
• Experience with delivery management software or mobile applications (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Plan and execute optimal delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at all scheduled stops.
• Load, unload, and secure merchandise in the delivery vehicle, ensuring products are protected during transit.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including signatures, delivery confirmations, and any special instructions from customers.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues or damage immediately.
• Meet daily and weekly delivery quotas while maintaining quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status, delays, or customer concerns.
• Inspect packages for damage or discrepancies before delivery and document any issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle at all times.
