Job summary

STEP, Inc. is seeking Substitute Classroom Aides to fill shifts across Lycoming and Clinton Counties. The role supports early care and education by supervising and guiding young children in safe, engaging settings.

Hours are flexible, with a maximum of 20 hours per week at various facilities. A $15.19 per hour rate applies, and all hires must meet background checks and training requirements before placement.

Qualifications

• Criminal History Clearance and background checks required before hire.
• Mandated reporters of Child Abuse training completed prior to placement.
• Health and Safety training (CCDBG) completed prior to placement.
• Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
• Current PedFACTS and CPR certification prior to placement.
• Two written non-family references provided.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including late afternoons/evenings.
• Participation in job-related training as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist on an as-needed basis with supervision and instruction of young children in the classroom.
• Monitor children to ensure safe, age-appropriate play and interaction.
• Encourage intellectual and psychological growth in a nurturing environment.
• Aides can claim vacant shifts as needed at participating ECE facilities enrolled in the program.
