Qualifications

• Certification in Surgical Technology required.
• LPN licensure for grandfathered employees.
• Registration with VA Dept of Health Professions.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains a sterile field.
• Passes instruments to clinicians safely.
• Participates in surgical counts per policy.
• Communicates with surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists and staff.
• Follows policies, procedures and patient safety goals.
• Contributes to nursing process for patients of all ages.
• Participates in unit educational activities.
